AMKOR-ANAM PILIPINAS, INC. (NOW AMKOR TECHNOLOGY, INC.)

The company maintains a non-unionized environment, borne by sound employee morale, developed by good employee selection and placement, employee development and training, benefits packages and effective communication. Guided by the company’s vision, quality values and quality policy, AAPI has received certifications that include: ISO 9000, QS9000, SAC/FordQ101, DESCMIL, and ISO 14001.

DATA GENERAL PHILIPPINES, INC. (NOW ACBEL POLYTECH PHLIPPINES)

Data General Philippines employs 145 workforce by an all-Filipino management team, headed by a Director. The company has drawn up systems to focus on employee partnering. Work is structured in processes, which are managed by Process Improvement Teams. The day-to-day activities are managed by Self-Directed Teams, and coached by functional managers. DGP supports the protection of the environment. As a member of the Pollution Control Association, recommended methods of waste disposal are followed.

CITY GOVENMENT OF MARIKINA

The City Government of Marikina demonstrated a sound and purposive business approach in most areas. There is a clear vision, set of values and program of government and extending down to its public constituents. Some of these programs are the “Squatter-Free” Program, 5-Minute Response Time, “Disiplina sa Bangketa”, Clean Public Market, and Waste Management Program. The “Lakaby-Aral” Program initiated by the City Mayor and mostly participated by the City Council, department heads and selected staff as a venue to benchmark with other local government units (LGUs) and other agencies both inside and outside the country has greatly helped in the conceptualization and improvement of programs and services adopted by the City of Marikina.

AMERICAN MICROSYSTEMS, INC. (PHILS.)

AMI’s commitment to transforming the company to a learning organization is manifested through the Quality College which provides in-house training programs assuring that all employees are given necessary training for continuous improvement. AMI is ISO9000, QS9000 and MIL-PRF38538 certified. New technologies are implemented such as Total Cycle Time (TCT), Dynamic Cycle Time (DCT), first yield, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Failure Mode Error Analysis (FMEA).

ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLIES, INC.

EAI’s driving force of Total Quality Management is their EAI Quality Improvement System (eQIS) which encompasses their beliefs and ideals in total customer satisfaction. It is divided into small business units such as the Continuous Improvement Teams (CITs) to assure quick response time and to facilitate easier communication between the customer and key operations personnel. The company was ISO 9002 certified in 1992 and 1995.

SAN MIGUEL YAMAMURA ASIA CORPORATION

SMY’s overall business direction, strategic plans, sales and marketing, and human resource policies are linked to the Glass Business objectives which are focused on customer satisfaction, market and revenue growth, cost competitiveness, financial/technological capability and employee development and satisfaction. SMY is the first San Miguel Facility to be certified to ISO 9000.

YAZAKI-TORRES MANUFACTURING, INC.

The President and General Manager has always believed that the success of the company hinges on how well it can harness the full potential of its employees and the cooperation of various support groups. Thus, programs have been initiated to address these issues such as, “Quality, Cost and Delivery”, “Quality Control Circles (QCC)”, 4-S Program”, and “7P+2D” which stands for Pag-unawa, Pagtitiwala, Pagsunod, Pagmamalasakit, Pagkakaalam, Pagkapayak, Disiplina and Determinasyon. It has since become one of the frameworks for the company’s trek to present levels of performance. YTMI is QS 9000 certified.
